It needed an oem decomp, cleaning/porting the oiler, a bar oil cap and a little gasket on the air filter cover to seal it up. After those mods it runs great. The 645 is Solo's "mid level" saw. It is a way better saw than the normal box store junk, but not quite on par with the pro saws from stihl/husky. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it’s full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price. A 60cc saw is a good one saw plan for most users, a 50cc is not.

Even a custom job made out of wood and an acme screw could do that better than a bench vise. Finding a smaller used one on CL may be the way to go.
